MTV I Am An Emotional Creature TV Spots Win Platinum at the Creativity International Awards!

In July 2010, Eve Ensler partnered with MTV to bring I Am an Emotional Creature: The Secret Lives of Girls Around the World, straight to the network's audience in a series of creative spots featuring a mix of Eve, V-Day Board member Rosario Dawson, Aubrey Plaza from "Parks and Recreation," and Jessica Stroup from "90210." Less then a year later these empowering and thought provoking spots have won the PLATINUM Award for Public Service TV Campaign at the Creativity International Awards, a global showcase for outstanding work and top talent in the advertising and graphic design industries.

Congratulations to everyone at MTV involved in making these happen!

WATCH: TODAY Show Calls Attention to Sexual Assault on College Campuses

According to a report funded by the Department of Justice, roughly one in five women who attend college will become the victim of a rape or an attempted rape by the time she graduates. However, school policies and official data from colleges and universities does not reflect the scope of the problem, and student survivors are often pressured to remain silent and left feeling victimized a second time, according to a 12-month investigation by the Center for Public Integrity. On Thursday May 19, TODAY Show highlighted this issue, interviewing Maggie Hurt, a student at Wake Forest University, and Margo Jondo, a student at Indiana University, both survivors of sexual assault on their campuses and victims of inadequate response by their universities.

Take Action: In December 2010, V-Day and SAFER (Students Active for Ending Rape) launched the Campus Accountability Project (CAP) to create a student-led movement to reform sexual assault policies on campuses. A multi-phase project, CAP's online database houses over 130 policies (and growing) in a public and searchable catalog detailing what colleges and universities are doing to prevent, reduce, and respond to sexual violence on campus.
