Why I RISE...Words to Inspire

"I'm Rising because I want every woman and girl to be able to discover the power of our inner strength. I'll be Dancing in Paseo de la Sexta en Guatemala City. My Soul and Heart will also Dancing with the Rest of the World to change the Planet's axis" - Marsha Lopez

Today is the first day of 2013, New Year's resolutions abound! Why not make yours one you can stick to - resolve to DANCE with one billion women and those that love them on 14 February 2013.

ONE BILLION RISING is 6 weeks away. On 14 February 2013, we will come together as one across over 179 countries, bridging lands, nationalities, religions, ideologies, ethnicities, and uniting in a common goal - to end violence against women and girls.

As we celebrate the beginning of the New Year we want to share with you some of the reasons why people are rising around the planet:

- Anita Patrickson

- Mallika Dutt
